Obituary for Hazel Gossett Brown Hazel Lee Gossett Brown, 94, widow of James “Jack” V. Brown, Sr., passed away December 18, 2018. A native of Union County, daughter of the late Oscar James and Cornelia Pollard Gossett, she was a retired employee of Liberty Life Insurance Company and a member of Riverside Baptist Church. Surviving are one son, Jimmy Brown (Mary) of Greer; a grandson, J.B. Brown (Jill); and five great-grandchildren, Anna, Jack, Delaney, Christian and Matthew. Mrs. Brown was predeceased by one son, John H. Brown, two brothers, O.J. Gossett and Charles Gossett and two sisters, Janet Sumner and Willie Mayfield. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 21, 2018 at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Chris Jackson and Dr. Drew Hines. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park. Honorary escort will be the Jubilant Workers of Riverside Baptist Church. Visitation will be held 9:30-10:45 a.m. Friday at The Wood Mortuary. The family is at the home.
