Florian P Butch Kopacki 1936 2018

Obituary of Florian Kopacki Florian “Butch” P. Kopacki, 82, of Waite Rd. died on Friday Dec. 14, 2018 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. He was born in Elnora, NY on June 13, 1936 and was the son of the late Andrew and Apolonia Filipek Kopacki. He was the beloved husband Janet Fontaine Kopacki whom he married on Dec. 3, 1960. Florian retired as a truck driver from Preston Freight and earlier he had worked for Pilot Freight. He was a member of the Polish Community Center of Albany and had been on the Polish Community Center Board for 2 Years. He had served with New York National Guard 109th. at the Stratton Air National in Scotia. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife Janet, include his children, Kevin Kopacki, Sharon (Chris) Straney and Jared (Linda) Kopacki; brother of Caroline (Joe) Trzeciak; cherished grandfather of Tyler (Jen), Alyssa, Janna, Jana and Matthew; great grandfather of Liliana and anxiously awaiting the birth of his great grandson in February.; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Butch was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 560 Clifton Park Center Road, Clifton Park, NY 12065 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be from 5-8 pm Tuesday in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065. Interment with full military honors will be in the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ballston Lake Ambulance, PO Box 1005 Ballston Lake, NY 12019 or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital Tribute Program, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
