Obituary for Chuck McSparen Charles “Chuck” Mark McSparen, 65, of rural Unionville, Iowa passed away on December 22, 2018 at his home. He was born May 23, 1953 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Charles Fredrick and Mary Alyce Hewitt McSparen. He graduated from Eddyville High School and served in the Army. He worked in construction operating heavy equipment and also farmed. On August 30, 2002 he married Tina Steele in Mahaska County, Iowa. Tina passed away on October 31, 2005. Chuck enjoyed being outside hunting, fishing, deer watching, cutting wood, and relaxing on his front porch. He also enjoyed spending time with family. He is survived by a son, Jason McSparen of Drakesville, Iowa; three granddaughters; a great-granddaughter; two brothers, Rocky (Deb) McSparen of Drakesville, Alan (Kim) McSparen of Unionville, Iowa; four sisters, Mary Dawn Malone of Monroe, Iowa, Tonya (Craig) Steel of Eddyville, Iowa, Trisha (Mark) Garman of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Lisa (Howard) Sterling of Eddyville; special nephew, Ron (Kat) Burch; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. His body has been donated to the University of Iowa Deeded Body Program. Services will be held at a later date.
