Obituary for Beverly M. Hammer Beverly M. Hammer, 60, of Fortson, GA died Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital. A celebration of her life will be held 6:00 PM Saturday, December 29, 2018 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. The family will receive friends following the celebration. Beverly was born March 1, 1958 in Macon, GA daughter of the late Reginald T. Hall and Betty Kirkland Strong. She obtained a BS in nursing from Columbus State University. Beverly served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserve Nursing Corp. She retired as a nurse with DCI at St. Francis Hospital after 30 years of service. Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Richard Hammer, a sister, Regina B. Taylor (Randy), brother, Richard T. McMahan (Claire). Beverly’s family also included Sara Spence, Mike Hammer and Lynn McClendon (Steve). Beverly will be especially missed by her nine nieces and nephews.
