Obituary for Betty Lou Scrivener Betty Lou (Hole) Scrivener, of Newaygo, Michigan, (recently Cedar Springs, MI), age 83, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2018, surrounded by family. She was born on April 12, 1935, in Harvard, MI. Betty is survived by her beloved husband M. Lee Scrivener; loving children, Richard Bennett, Jessie (Robert) Long, Edward Bennett and Gwen Johnson, Elizabeth (Martin) Cain, Judy (Richard) Plunkett, Leanne (Robert) Denslow, Deb (Marty) Vogel, Perry Scrivener, Steve (Lisa) Scrivener, Diane Merritt, Dale (Sue) Scrivener, Tammy (D.J.) Benedict, Rose (Shannon) Diekema. She was preceded in death by her mother, Edith (Dake) Hole, her father Columbia Hole, husbands Edward H. Bennett and Maxwell French, her beloved son Shawn L. Bennett, plus several siblings; Beatrice, Clyde “Mike,” Frank, Raymond, Irene, Doris, Elmer, Jessie, Fred, and Ed. Betty is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was loved by so many and impacted everyone she met in such a wonderful way that she will leave a void that no one can again fill. The family would like to thank Norbert of Spectrum Health Hospice for assisting her through her last moments. There will be a time of visitation from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2018, at Pederson Funeral Home, 127 N. Monroe Street NE, Rockford, MI 49341. The funeral service for Betty will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2018 at Pederson Funeral Home. Pastor Bruce Wilson will be officiating. There will also be a one hour visitation prior to the service. Those wishing to offer expressions of sympathy may make a memorial contribution in Betty’s name to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 500, Chicago, Illinois 60611.
