Obituary of Norman Washick Norman L. Washick, 79 of Peckville died Mnday at home. His wife is Carol Wills Washick. The couple was married for 58 years. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Walter and Angeline Mikielski Washick. He was a graduate od G.A.R. High School in 1957 and was a member of the United States Air Force from 1957 until he retired from the Air Force Reserves in 1985, reaching the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He received Meritorius Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force and Army Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award wit three clusters, the Air Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Unit Citation, After his services time he held various positions, such as Traffic Manager for Friedmans Express Eberhard Faber United Gilsonite He was also a salesman for Sanborn Motor Express and RTO Safety.He loved to cook and was a chef at Price Chopper and Quinns Market. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville.He was past Commander and Lifetime member of Shopa-Davey VFW, Post 6082 Peckville. A speical Thank You to the staff of Traditional Home Health for all of the compassion and kindness afforded to Norman and his family. Survived by a son Norman Washick, Jr. and wife Sharon, Pittston Twp. and stepdaughters, Katie and Emily Jobson and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Raymond.
