Luis G Gallegos 2018

Luis G. Gallegos, 87, died on Thursday, November, 29, 2018 in JFK Medical Center, Edison. Luis was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador to the late Luis and Rosa Gallegos. Luis came to the US in 1962 to NYC and lived in Perth Amboy before finally residing in Edison in 1986. He was employed by General Motors in Linden for over 30 years as a Lineman. He is a member of UAW Union Local #595. Luis is a communicant of St. Matthew’s RC Church in Edison. He enjoyed playing soccer as a goalie. He was also a veteran of the Navy in Ecuador. Luis loved this country and was a proud American. Luis was predeceased by his son, Luis Antonio in 1976. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dolores Solorzano de Gallegos; his son, Francisco; his daughter, Jennifer Michaels and her husband Thomas all of Edison; and 3 grandchildren, Braden, Mason and Amelia. The funeral will be held on Monday, December 3rd at 8:45 am from the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middle Avenue (Rt. 27) Metuchen followed by a 9:30 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Matthews RC Church, Edison. Interment will be in Hillside of Metuchen. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5-9 pm. To send condolences visit www.costello-runyon.com
