James Ellis McGhee 1939 2018

Obituary of James McGhee James Ellis McGhee of Jefferson City, Missouri, son of the late Wiley and Pansy Parmenter McGhee, was born in Bloomfield, Missouri on August 28,1939 and passed away on November 19, 2018, in Jefferson City, Missouri, at the age of 79 years, 2 months and 22 days. Jim had lived in Dexter before moving to Jefferson City in 1993. He had received his Juris Doctorate and was a retired attorney. He had served as a Captian in the U. S. Air Force, had served in the Missouri National Guard for thirteen years and was a member of the Concord Baptist Church in Jefferson City. On March 6, 1993, he married Kathy Burcks in Puxico, Missouri. Surviving are his wife, Kathy McGhee of Jefferson City, Missouri; one son, LTC Todd (Donna) McGhee, Ret. of Woodbridge, Virginia; three daughters, Kendall (John) Crail of Scott City, Shannon (Kevin) Burden of Whitewater, Ashley Usrey of Jackson; three step-children, Dan (Brandy) Haney and Rick (Stacy Blomberg) Haney of Jefferson City, John (Rachel) Haney of Holts Summitt; ten grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one sister, Anne (Grady) Smith of Puxico; and one brother, Randy McGhee of Jefferson City. Other relatives and many friends also survive. Friends may call on Monday, November 26, 2018, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico with Richard Lamb of Puxico officiating & Bonnie Harty of Dexter assisting. Interment will follow in the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with full military honors. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
