Obituary for Elizabeth A. Hepfl Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Hepfl, 86, of Clarion, passed away early Tuesday morning, November 20, 2018 at the Clarion Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on September 15, 1932 in Snydersburg; daughter of the late Arthur and Ida Ditz Bauer. Betty married Charles Hepfl on August 1, 1951, and he preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Linda Summerville and her husband Wes of Clarion, Catherine Barr and her husband John of Clarion, Diane Myers and her husband Delane of New Bethlehem, James Hepfl and his wife Lynn of Limestone, Patricia Girt and her friend Randy Hilliard of Strattanville, Steven Hepfl and his wife Michelle of Lamartine, and Donna Smith and her husband Robert of Strattanville, seventeen grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren. Betty was a homemaker and she also worked for many years on the Highland Township Election Board. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarion, where she was part of the Ladies Guild. Betty enjoyed family gatherings and cooking for the family. She also enjoyed quilting and meeting with her friends for lunch to share and discuss quilting projects. Betty loved planting large gardens and taking care of her flowers. She is also survived by her siblings, Edith Reinsel and her husband Ed of Virginia, Joseph Bauer and his wife Mary of Ohio, Marie Mauersburg of Clarion, Bernice Reinsel and her husband Robert of Virginia, Mike Bauer and his wife Nancy of Clarion, Evelyn Dwyer of Ohio, Jane Lander of Oil City, Dan Bauer and his wife Wendy of Maryland, and Ray Bauer and his wife Diane of Lucinda. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her infant twin brother, and her infant sister. Betty’s family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 23, 2018 at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Noon on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Monty Sayers, presiding. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Betty’s name to the Community Action Agency, 38 S Sheridan Rd, Clarion, PA 16214.
