Mr. Carl Leon Thomas, age 69 passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at his home. Leon was born on October 17, 1949 in Oneida, TN. He was the son of the late E.M. and Thelma Thomas. Leon was a member of the Hazel Valley Church. He worked as a masonry for many years. Leon enjoyed fishing and listening to bluegrass music. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Finley and Ella Thomas and Jim and Eva Kidd; brother, Lloyd Paul Thomas; and sister, Ruth Terry. Leon is survived by his daughters, Carla and husband, Billy Gibson and Teresa and husband, Randy Lawson; his grandchildren, Madison and Kaleb Gibson, Benjamin, Lyssa, and Randi Kate Lawson; one brother, Bobby Joe Thomas; one sister, Eva Lee Thomas; and he leaves behind many other family members. Leon had many special friends including: Virgil Slaven, Doyle Slaven and Ronald Mills. Leon chose to be cremated and had made arrangements with ReStore Life to have his body donated in order to help others. A Celebration of Life will be on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home. Jones & Son Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. Carl Leon Thomas.
