Obituary for Wayne O. Lovell Wayne Orlin Lovell, 95, of Topeka, Kansas passed away Friday, September 28, 2018 at the Health Care Resort of Topeka. Wayne was born December 2, 1922 in Olivet, Kansas, the son of Clarence and Lizzie Mae Lovell. On June 13, 1945 in Kansas City, Missouri he married the love of his life Mildred White, who survives of the home. Wayne was a graduate of Olivet High School where he played on the state championship basketball team. In his younger years he enjoyed playing both basketball and golf. He served in the 5th Air Force A3 Squadron in the South Pacific in the United States Army Air Corps, later Air Force, during World War II. He earned four ribbons during his service that he was very proud of. He was a huge Kansas City Royals and Kansas Jayhawks fan. He loved to go to the horse and dog races with Mildred as often as they could. His family will remember him as being the pillar of their family as the patriarch while also remember his gentle and caring spirit. Wayne leaves behind his loving wife of seventy three years, where the two rarely spent a moment apart, Mildred; a daughter, Carol Sue Blass and husband Jim of Topeka; a granddaughter, Audrey Miller and husband Gerald of Topeka; great grandchildren, Alexis and husband Austin Bush of Topeka; Mickalla McVay of Topeka; and step great grandchildren, Christopher Miller of Topeka, Nicholas Miller of Overland Park, Samuel and wife Rachael Lada of Salina; and a brother, Lester Dean Lovell of Prairie Village, Kansas. He is preceded in death by his parents, an infant son Larry, and a sister, Thelma Farmer. A visitation will be held from 1:00 – 1:30 P.M.
