Obituary for Roberta Bennett Ganey Roberta Cornelia Bennett Ganey, 87, formerly of 957 Stoney Mill Road, Danville, VA died Sunday, October 20, 2018 at Piney Forest Health and Rehabilitation Center where she had been a patient since January 2018. Mrs. Ganey was born in Mount Airy North Carolina, on July 22, 1931, a daughter of the late Jessie Lee Bennett and Liona Frances Ayers Bennett. Mrs. Ganey lived most of her life in the Danville community and retired from Disston, Inc. as a Packer. She was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church. Mrs. Ganey is survived by a son, Jerry L. Ganey and wife Pam of Danville Virginia and a grandson Steven Ganey. She was predeceased by a sister Marie Bennett McKinley and a brother Robert Lee Bennett. The family intends to honor Mrs. Ganey’s wishes that there be no funeral services. Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel is respectfully serving the Ganey Family.
