OBITUARY Mr. Raymond Earl Bennett January 6, 1936 – October 13, 2018 Raymond Earl Bennett, 82, of Jasper, passed away peacefully surrounding by loved ones at home Saturday morning, October 13, 2018. Family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, from 5 until 8 p.m., at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at 12 p.m., at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, with Kilgore-Green Funeral Home directing, burial will be at Herman Baptist Cemetery. John Gates will officiate. Raymond retired from teaching school at the Walker Area Vocational School and he also drove a tour bus for Adventure Charters. He loved his family and cherished his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Dona Bennett; sister, Ruth Fike; brothers, Charles Bennett Jr. and Douglas Bennett; grandparents, Sam and Eveline Bennett; and in-laws, William and Hattie Woodard. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mildred Woodard Bennett, children, Ray Bennett II, Rodney Bennett, Ronda Leigh Cummings, Randall Bennett (Grace); grandchildren, Sean Michael Cummings (Madison), Skylar Rhae Bennett, Rodney Bennett II, Sarah Harbison (Anthony), Iona Bennett; great grandchildren, Noah, Corbin, Emmett; brother, Dwight Bennett (Brenda); aunts, Mildred Steele and Kathryn Dopson and a host nieces, nephews, many friends and good neighbors.
