OBITUARY Nathaniel Dee Brooks June 30, 2004 – October 23, 2018 Nathaniel Dee Brooks, 14, of Fort Smith passed from this life October 23, 2018 in Fort Smith. He was born June 30, 2004 in Fort Smith to Gary and Mitzi Brooks. Nathan was a student at Chaffin Jr. High. Nathan enjoyed southern gospel music, whether it be at home, on a car ride with his dad or singing at church. He loved time with his uncles and aunts, but was always a daddy’s boy. Nathan and Gary enjoyed long drives together and Friday nights at the mall. Nathan was preceded in death by his mother, Mitzi Lyn Mankin Brooks. Nathan is survived by his dad, Gary Brooks, as well his grandparents and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. Funeral services will be 10:00am Monday, October 29, 2018 at First Assembly of God in Van Buren, with burial following at New Cemetery in Mulberry. The family will greet friends from 1:00 to 3:00pm Sunday October 28, 2018 in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Rebecca D. Schnitzler(Nathan’s aunt) Special Account at First National Bank, Fort Smith, Arkansas.
