Mary Margaret Phillips Melcher, 70, of Reading, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 2:20 pm in Transitions Life Hospice, Raleigh, North Carolina. She was the wife of William J. Melcher, Sr. Born in Chattanooga, TN, Mrs. Melcher was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Matheny) Phillips. She was a member of Grace Bible Fellowship Church in Reading and was a Pre-School Teachers Aide at Lambs Christian Pre-School at Grace Bible Fellowship Church. In addition to her husband William, she is survived by her children William J. Melcher, Jr. husband of Denean Melcher of Blandon; Sarah E. Auxier, wife of Travis Auxier of Raleigh, NC; Amanda B. Tovey, wife of Jason Tovey of Raleigh, NC; Peter E. Melcher, husband of Judith Melcher of Reading and Philip A. Melcher of Reading and her 17 grandchildren. She was preceded in death her brother William J. Phillips, III. Funeral Service will be held in Grace Bible Fellowship Church 1128 Hampden Blvd. Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 10:15 am. Reverend Randall A. Grossman will officiate. Interment will be held privately by the family in Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends in Grace Bible Fellowship Church Saturday 9:00-10:00 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Lambs Christian Pre-School Mary Melcher Scholarship Fund c/o Grace Bible Fellowship at the above address.
