Obituary for Marie (Granny) Cutshall Hensley Marie (Granny) Cutshall Hensley, age 89, of Chuckey, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Flag Pond, Marie is a daughter of the late Neely Bascom Cutshall and Sophina (Sams) Cutshall. She enjoyed camping and fishing and loved spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Marie is preceded in death by her husband: Gerald Hensley; daughter: Lurene Shell; son-in-law: Gary Shell; grandson: Eric Shell; son-in-law: Chester Norton. Marie (Granny) Cutshall Hensley leaves behind to cherish her memory: Daughters: Sarah “Lucy” Norton, Peggy “Pig” Crumpton and husband, Robert; Sons: Buck Cutshall and wife, Joann, Stanley Cutshall; Thirteen grandchildren; Numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; Very special sister: Florence Metcalf; Several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to friends and family for all the calls, food, prayers and support during this difficult time. The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Marie (Granny) Cutshall Hensley in a funeral service to be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Danny Willis will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 and will continue until the hour of service. A committal service will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM in Union Chapel Cemetery. Those who wish to attend will meet at the cemetery by 10:50 AM. Serving as pallbearers will be: Brian Cutshall, Jason Cutshall, Wesley Cutshall, Allen Hensley, Jasper Harrison, Jessie Shelton and Scottie Cantrell.
