Larry Barr 2018

“The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear?” – Psalms 27:1 Mr. Larry Barr was born on February 2, 1958 in Florence, South Carolina. He was the son of Amos Rush and Inez Barr. After the death of his mother, Larry was raised by his grandmother, Cornius Barr. He departed this life on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Bowles Community Care Home in McClellanville, South Carolina. Larry was educated in the public school systems of the New York and Florence County. During his lifetime, Larry joined Majority Baptist Church, and also attended several churches in both Florence and Columbia, South Carolina. He loved the Lord, his family and those he called his friends. Larry was known for his quick wit, sense of style and his infectious smile and laugh. He developed a passion for photography, and he wouldn’t miss the opportunity to either be in or take a picture. He also thoroughly enjoyed basketball and a good game of pool. Most of all, he will be remembered for his ability to live and love life, in spite of his condition or situation. In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by three uncles: David Barr, Alto Barr and Randy K. Packer. Larry leaves to mourn and cherish his memory: one sister, Leslie (Charles) Flowers of Florence, SC; one uncle, Oneal Packer of Florence, SC; one great aunt, Barbara Brown of Florence, SC; best friend, Nadine Barr of Columbia, SC; two nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
