Obituary of Jo Kershaw Jo Ellen “Jody” Kershaw, 55, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, October 28 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, surrounded by loving family. Jody was born July 6, 1963 in Jacksonville, IL, the daughter of Dean and Rita Wankel Kershaw. She began school at the age of 3 in the first class of Pathway School in Jacksonville, IL in 1966. She thrived at Pathway and later attended Jacksonville public schools. She continued with the wonderful program at Pathway where she participated in Special Olympics and Girl Scouts. Jody’s kind heart and sense of humor won her the love of many during her short life. She is survived by her sister Suzanne Webb Shay of Springfield, her sister-in-law, Lee Kershaw of Ashland, and 7 nieces and nephews plus 20 great nieces and nephews. Jody was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Michael Kershaw and her brother-in-law, Roger Webb. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 am Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Church of Our Saviour, 453 E. State St., Jacksonville. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am on Saturday prior to the funeral mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Pathway Services Unlimited, 1905 W. Morton Ave., Jacksonville, IL 62650 or to Cass/Schuyler Area Hospice, 331 S. Main St., Virginia, IL 62691. Williamson Funeral Home is in Jacksonville charge of the arrangements.
