Memorial Services for James Roy Williams, age 67 will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Dexter United Methodist Church. Rev. Sam Collins will officiate. Mr. Williams was born on January 8, 1950 in Dublin, Georgia. He was the son of the late Authur Admon Williams and Calcie Fountain Williams Wester. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sabrina Williams Wright, and his sister, Dean Williams Graham. He was a School Bus Driver for the Laurens County School System.… Read More » He was a member of Dexter United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School, and served as a Steward. He retired from Bonanza Mobile Homes as salesman after 30 years. He served as Mayor Pro-Tem of Dexter. He was a avid golfer. He loved his wife, children and family with all his heart. Mr. Williams passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at Serenity Place. Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Hope Williams of Dexter, a son, James Arthur (Brandi) Williams of East Dublin, 2 brothers, Authur “Buddy” Winston (Colleen) Williams of Dexter, and John Russell (Marcia) Williams of Dexter, a son-in-law, Brad Wright of Dexter, and 3 grandchildren, Olwynn Williams, Gracie Wright, and Morgan Williams. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 05, 2017 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mr. Williams to Dexter United Methodist Church at 402 Line Street, Dexter, GA 31019 or to a charity of your choice. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
