Debby Branson Ellis, age 59, of Mattoon passed away at 1:12 p.m. on Monday, October 15, 2018 at her home. Memorial Services honoring her life will begin at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Schilling Funeral Home. Per her wishes, Debby and Cecil will be laid to rest together in her family plot at Dodge Grove Cemetery. Debby was born on December 20, 1958… Read More » in Mattoon, IL the daughter of Cleaves and Rosalie (Arthur) Branson. She married Cecil Ellis, the love of her life, on December 22, 2000. Cecil preceded her in death on September 7, 2009. Survivors include her siblings, Darlene (Steve) McGary, Mark (Nancy) Branson and Gary (Janet Sue) Branson all of Mattoon, IL; nieces and nephews, Angie Pearson, Christi Poorman, Shannon McGary, Sharma Trail, Casey Branson, Jake Branson, Edward Carpenter, Amy McGary, Jary Branson and Garrette Branson; numerous great nieces and nephews; several great great nieces and nephews; aunts, Norma Lundy and Maxine Arthur. Debby is survived by special friends, Carolyn Ginger and Homer Nottingham. She is also survived by her precious canine, Rosie. Debby was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother-in-law Russell Bush. Debby’s family are very appreciative to Debby’s special caregiver and friend, Jessica. Debby was preciously employed in various departments at Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital prior to her illness. She took great pride working at this facility and building those friendships there. Debby enjoyed attending family gatherings and sports events, health permitting. She was a devoted caregiver to her parents. Debby enjoyed social gatherings with friends and family. She was an excellent listener and was always quick to ask if there was anything she could do for friends and family in need. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her honor are suggested to the Coles County Animal Shelter.
