Ruth Nelson 82 of Franklin Furnace gained her wings to heaven on Thursday August 30, 2018 leaving from the Crystal Care Nursing Center. The Greenup, Kentucky native was born September 15, 1935, a daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth Adkins and the late Jacob Nelson. She was a graduate of Rock Hill High School. She was formerly employed with GTE of Illinois with over 12 years of service. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and love to shop. Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers; Jacob Nelson Jr., Paul Nelson, Richard Nelson, Gene Nelson, 4 sisters; Louise Abrams, Rosemary Russell, Betty Nelson and Yvonne Davis She is survived by a son; William Glazier, 3 Daughters; Kathy Wilson and her husband Daniel, Debra Bond and her husband Rick, Lora Glazier, a sister; Minnie Mae Anderson, a brother; Andrew Nelson, 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
