Obituary for Mr. Richard Stem Richard “Dick” Stem of Worton, MD passed away at his home on the farm on August 31, 2018. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Hope Fellowship Church in Chestertown, MD with Pastor Josh Rendulic officiating. Dick was born in Pleasantville, PA to Irvin and Anna Stem on October 24, 1937. He attended school in Bellefonte, PA where he met and later married Barbara K Davis on August 23, 1955. He was a farm worker most of his life and had a special affinity with working with animals but eventually finished his working years at Washington College on the maintenance staff; retiring in August of 1994. He is predeceased by his parents, two sisters and 2 brothers all of Pennsyl- vania. Dick is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Stem and six children: Rick (Lois) Stem of Beaufort, SC; Tim (Julie) Stem of Howard, PA; Donna (Rick) Unangst of Milton, PA; Chrissy (George) Curtlett of Kennedyville, MD; Debi (Vic) Tran of Manassas, VA and Robin (Greg) McKinney of Barclay, MD. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren as well as two brothers of Centre County, PA. He also leaves behind the many close friends he made over the years of living and working in Kent County and thru the Hope Fellowship Church. Dick was an avid hunter and could talk for hours about this big buck or that doe he encountered on the farm. He never met a stranger; always eager to en- gage anyone in a quick conversation about anything and everything and al- ways treated those he met like they were family. The family wishes to extend our sincere gratitude to the many people who touched Dick’s life in one way or another over the years and especially the church family that welcomed him not only into their lives but their hearts as well.
