Morris Eugene Rill, 78, of Harrisburg, passed away, surrounded by loving family and friends, on September 28, 2018 at Homeland Center, Harrisburg, PA. Born in Baltimore County, MD, on March 2, 1940, he was a son of the late Raymond J. and Ivy (Tracey) Rill. He was preceded in death by his late wife, Martha (Siegrist) Rill and his son Andrew Rill, from the mother of his children, Joan (Buchiemer) Rill. Morris was a mathematics and computer science professor at Shippensburg University. He was also a full-time farmer, with 500 acres of farmland in Newburg, Pennsylvania and owning an egg production company with 275,000 chickens, for 20 years. He was a member of Paxton Presbyterian Church. Morris was an entrepreneur, sculptor and an accomplished trumpeter. He was a member of Sigma Xi, Math Association of America, Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and Pennsylvania Poultry Association. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, teacher, mentor, neighbor and friend. Morris is survived by; daughter, Sandra Kline and husband Michael; sister, Doris DelNegro and husband Angelo; girlfriend, Nancy Eden; grandchildren, Jennifer Kline, Aaron and Abby Rill; nephew, Michael DelNegro; niece, Lisa Brown; and ex-wife Jan Sernoffsky. A viewing will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, 2100 Linglestown Rd. Harrisburg, PA 17110. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 12:00 PM at Paxton Presbyterian Church, 3500 Sharon St., Harrisburg, PA 17111. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
