OBITUARY Michal Patrosz June 15, 1927 – September 25, 2018 Michal Patrosz of Yonkers, N.Y., passed away on Tuesday September 25, 2018, at age of 91. Michal was born and grew up in Blechnarka, Poland. During WWII he volunteered to serve in the Army at age 17, where he was severely wounded. After recovery, he was barely able to walk. He and his family were removed from Blechnarka during Akcjia Wisla and resettled in Dobiegniew. Here Michal needed to learn a new trade and start his life anew. He rebuilt his home from ruins, started his family and built a business that allowed him to survive and thrive even under communist regime. He always cared for his family and made many sacrifices for them. To give his children a better life, he emigrated to America. Here he started from the bottom, without knowing English, working long hours on the factory floor and living modestly. His gentleness and good nature was his trademark. He was always willing to help whoever needed It. He was beloved husband to Anna Patrosz (nee Ganc). Devoted father of Olga (Zbigniew) Lukomska, Jerzy (Bozena), Stefan (Jola) and Andrzej (Bozena) Patrosz. Grandfather to: Paul. Marcin, Julita, Mark, Mathew, Jakub, Maya and Sebastian. Great Grandfather to: Naomi, Oliver and Arthur. Brother to Maria Moskal and Helena Hatala. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Sunday 4-8 p.m. Pannakhyda Sunday 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held in St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church on Monday, October 1st at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
