Joan A. Menard, 85, of the Village at Waterman Lake, Greenville, previously a longtime resident of Harrisville, passed away on August 29 surrounded by family members at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Pascoag, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Dora (Herard) LaPorte and was married to Raymond N. Menard for 64 years. In addition to her husband, Joan is survived by her daughter Suzanne of Putnam, CT; sons: Richard and his wife Holly of Attleboro, MA, Scott and his wife Linda of Hingham, MA & Joel of Amsterdam, The Netherlands; daughter–in-laws, Jody of Wallingford, CT and Rose of Mapleville; grandchildren Raegan, Adam, Charlie, Justine, Roslyn, Allie, Brooke, Jenna, Jason, Alexa, Avanna and André; eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sons Glenn and Craig and her son-in-law Garry. She was also the sister of the late Donald (Ducky) Laporte. Her funeral will be held on Monday, September 3, 2018 at 10 AM from the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Ave. Pascoag with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Patrick’s Church, 45 Harrisville Main St. , Harrisville. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Emerson Rd. Harrisville. Calling hours will be held Sunday, Sept. 2 from 4 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd. Ste 3004, Warwick, RI 02886
