Obituary for James ‘Buck’ Buckeridge James R. ‘Buck’ Buckeridge, 75 years of Columbia, IL, passed away on September 19, 2018, at his home after a brief battle with cancer. He was born March 27, 1943, in Evergreen Park, IL, son of the late Roger and Marie, nee Lauer, Buckeridge. He was married to Carolyn (Haning) Buckeridge. They were married November 28, 1969, in Lincoln, IL. Jim was a member of E.A.A., and the Pontiac Oakland Club. He had served in the U.S. Army and had been stationed in Korea. He had retired as a cartographer from the Defense Mapping Agency. Jim had graduated from Parks Air College, St. Louis University. Jim’s family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to BJC Hospice of Alton, IL, for their kindness and care for our loved one. Surviving are his son, James M. (Kara) Buckeridge of Oakville, MO; grandchildren, Edward James Buckeridge and Franklin David Buckeridge; four sisters, Karen Brummel of S. Elgin, IL, Janice (Tom) Balcer of Calistoga, CA, LeAnne (Alan) Struss of Coal Valley, IL, and Alice (Jerry) Prybycin of Wheaton, IL, along with other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Richard Brummel. Visitation will be Sunday, September 23, 2018, 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm, at Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois. Graveside Services will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, with Pastor Matt Friz, officiating.
