Obituary for Hattie M. Smith Hattie M. (Simpson) Smith of Salem, Missouri passed away on August 4, 2018 at the age of 94. She was born on May 25, 1924 in Wilderness, Missouri to the late Robert T. and Olsie Mae (Pigg) Simpson. Hattie was united in marriage to Carl J. Smith in 1943 and to this union one son was born. Hattie loved people. She worked in the school system for many year, cooking and driving a bus. After retiring she then became a beautician. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her son, Robert E. Smith of Salem, Missouri; brother, James J. Simpson Sr. and wife Anita of Salem, Missouri; sisters, Artie M. Case of Alton, Missouri and Electa M. Smallwood of Alton, Missouri; and a host of extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, Hattie was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; sisters, Armineie J. Williams; brother-in-law, Tuter Case. A memorial service for Hattie M. Smith with be held at a later date. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Hattie M.
