Doris L. (Mulvey) Merritt, 99, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018 at her son’s home surrounded by her family. Doris was born in Equality, Illinois on May 13, 1919 to the late Charles and Martha (Emery) Mulvey. In her early years, she worked in a recreation center for teens in Illinois and was a member of First Christian Church. Doris is… Read More » survived by her daughter, Helen Hampton (Tom) of Evansville, IN; her son, Bruce Merritt (Diane) of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Kelly Newcomb, Robert Merritt, Meagan Merritt, Chad Harvey, Shawn Harvey, Heather Harvey and several great grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Joseph W. Merritt; her daughter, Kaye Harvey; a grandson, Kevin Newcomb; her parents; and several brothers and sisters. A private graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to MSA Hospice, 3101 N. Green River Rd., Suite 210, Evansville, IN 47715.
