Doris Dean (Wattenbarger) Simpson, an 82 year old Trenton, MO resident, passed away at 3:38 p.m., Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital East in Lee’s Summit, MO following a lingering illness. Her body is to be cremated under the direction of Whitaker Eads Funeral Home of Trenton. No services are scheduled. Doris Simpson was born October 31, 1935 to Jim and Ruby Wattenbarger. On May 14, 1954 she was united in marriage to Marvin G. Yardley in Milan. They divorced in 1969 and she was remarried to Billy Simpson on December 30, 1978. They lived on a farm in Harris, MO until. Bill preceded her in death April 14, 2000. Doris worked at Banquet Foods for several years. After retiring she moved to Trenton. She is survived by daughters Judy (Danny) Cowles and Janet Hollon, grandchildren; Paula (Matt) Nichols, Karen (Tom) Collins, Kevin (Cassie) Cowles, Kristi (Kurk) Faulkner, Kurtis Hollon, Brian Cunningham, Brett Cunningham great grandchildren; Kaylin (Matt) Miller, Ashlin (Sam) Eller, Riley Schoonover, Raegan Keuhn, Kylie Cowles, Jayden Stark, Emma Whitlock, Ethan Faulkner, Brody Faulkner, Josie Thudium, Jessa Thudium, Jayli Thudium, great-great grandchildren Milos Miller and many nieces and nephews. Those preceding her in death include her parents, husband, daughter Tama Cunningham, brothers Eddie Wattenbarger, Richard Wattenbarger, Larry Wattenbarger, sisters Eva Sue Coin and Charlotte Lewellen, and a grandchild Sherri Thudium.
