Cletus L. Hoffmann, 86, of Waterloo, IL, died September 25, 2018, in Waterloo, IL. He was born August 12, 1932, in Fults, IL. He is survived by his wife Twila Hoffmann nee Scheibe; children Barry (Cathy) Hoffmann and Sharon (John) Glessner; grandchildren Andrew (Andrea) Glessner, Abby (Kyle) Buettner; great grandchildren Colton and Caleb Glessner & Silas and Max Buettner; brother Alvis (Patsy) Hoffmann; sister Janice (Carl) Nagel; sister-in-law; brother-in-law Robert (Karlene) Scheibe; nieces; nephews; and cousins. Cletus is preceded in death by his parents Leland & Pauline (nee Rippelmeyer) Hoffmann; & sister Marilyn Luhr. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ – Maeystown, local musician for 60 years, avid fisherman and gardner, and a US Korean War Combat Veteran. As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to: St. John UCC – Music Fund, or Asphalt Fund Visitation: 4 PM to 8 PM Friday, September 28, 2018 at Quernheim Funeral Home 9 AM until time of service Saturday St. John United Church of Christ Funeral: 10 AM Saturday, September 29, 2018 at St. John United Church of Christ in Maeystown, IL Pastor Patrick Poole officiating Interment at St. John Cemetery in Maeystown, IL
