OBITUARY Alma June Stanton September 30, 1928 – September 25, 2018 Alma June Stanton, 89, of Bloomington died Tuesday, September 25, 2018 in I.U. Health Hospice House. She was born September 30, 1928 in Greenwood, Kentucky to Abe Stanton and Mallie Mildred Cummings Stanton. She had owned the Bloomington Bible Bookstore. Survivors include five sisters, Doris Patterson, Shirley Gardiner, Billie (husband Ray) Roberts and Brenda K. Stanton all of Bloomington and Martha Temple of Medora; her longtime friend, Mary Ruth Morgan; Barbara Van Hook, who was like a daughter; two sisters-in-law, Sharlene Stanton and Lois Ohler; a special nephew, Glen Hash, Jr.; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, William, Raymond and Robert Stanton; and three sisters, Margaret Ohler, Josephine Hash and Barbara Benson. Alma was a member of Adams Street Chapel where she had been the treasurer and secretary. At the Bloomington Bible Bookstore she would pray for anyone who came in, she was a prayer warrior for both her church and her family, and as the Matriarch, she loved to spend quality time with her large extended family. Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 10:00 AM in Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene & Harrell Chapel, 700 W Gourley Pike with Pastor Troy Shaffer and Pastor Tom White officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, September 28th from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
