OBITUARY Alice Lorene Bracy August 23, 1921 – September 27, 2018 Lorene Stewart Bracy, 97, passed away on September 27, 2018. She was born on August 23, 1921 in Willow, Oklahoma and graduated from Willow High School where she was a member of the Oklahoma Honor Society. While going to college and working at Fort Sill in 1943, she met a married a handsome FBI agent and attorney, H. Burton Bracy of Norwalk, Ohio. In their early years of marriage they moved to San Francisco, where Lorene worked for the Bank of Italy later known as Bank of America, where they fell in love with the city. When Burton practiced law with his parents they moved to Norwalk, Ohio, where their 2 daughters were born then to Rocky River, Ohio, where they lived for more than 30 years. During this time Lorene worked at Broadview Savings, served as Brownie and Girl Scout Leader for both girls’ troops, was an avid bridge player, golfer and interior decorator of her home. Eventually they retired to Skidaway Island, Georgia and then Greenville, South Carolina where their daughters both moved in 1988. Lorene was a member of the Covenant Methodist Church before moving into NHC Greenville, where she lived for many years. She was very thankful for the great care provided by all of the caregivers who recall her as a great eater and talker but most of all a lover of the 40’s music of Glen Miller and would sing frequently “Let Me Call You Sweetheart.” Lorene was proceeded in death by her husband of 59 years, H. Burton Bracy, and her daughter, Janice Bracy Hodous and is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Gilster Bracy.
