William E. (Buddy) Young, 96 of Paducah went to be with the Lord at 3:30p.m. August 18, 2018, surrounded by his family at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center of Paducah. Buddy was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Navy. He was the oldest living member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 184 in Paducah. He was a member of Olivet Baptist Church. Buddy is survived by his two daughters, Gina Noss and her husband Richard of Paducah and Karen Smith and her husband Jim Smith of Paducah. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Patti Slankard, of Paducah and Kevin Record of Paducah, and Krista Gronefeld Claflin and husband Claude Claflin of Washington, D.C. and Katelin Feeney Gallagher and her husband Nathan Gallagher of Hermitage, TN. In addition, he is survived by his great grandchildren, Kayla Record, Blake Record, Finnegan Gallagher, Bellany Gallagher, Hunter Claflin, Devin (Kaleb) LaNeave, and Vance Slankard and Finace` Alex Miller. He was blessed with two great great grandchildren, Sullinger LeNeave and Rogan LeNeave. He is also survived by his sister, Mildred Moseley of Paducah. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Betty Clayton Young and his parents Myrtle and Halford Young Memorial visitation will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday August 22, 2018 at Lindsey Funeral Home.
