Raymond Stepnowski passed away on August 8. 2018 . He was 81. Ray is a veteran of the U.S. Army. It was while he was stationed in Bad Kissingen, Germany, that he met his wife. He was a steel worker at the former Allen Wood Steel Company for nearly 25 years and then later worked as a butcher. He was a frequent visitor to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa. Ray was very proud of his Polish American heritage and enjoyed many Sundays at the shrine attending mass, followed by a meal of pierogi and kielbasa. He loved hunting and fishing and was a member of the Souderton/Harleysville Game Fish and Forestry Association. Tending his vegetable garden and cooking were also his passions. Ray was born on February 5, 1937 and was the son of the late Chester and Della (Gorski) Stepnowski. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helmi (Vorndran) Stepnowski, his daughter, Cindy (Stepnowski) Tarlecki and son, Gary Stepnowski. He has six grandchildren, Evan, Aaron, Jordan, Katie, Eric and Laura. Predeceased are his brother, Henry Stepnowski, sister, Marie (Stepnowski) Baron and son, Stan Stepnowski. Funeral service and burial will be private.
