Norman Brown, Sr., son of the late Robert L. Hannah Brown was born on April 28, 1940 in Chester, PA “Cokie” as he was affectionately called was educated in the Chester Upland School System. From there he woud ontain employment and become one of the hardest working people to know. His former empolyers included Sun Shipbuilding as a Sandblaster for more than 15 years. Being one who enjoyed helping others in his spare time, he would also drive and work as an attendant with the W.M. James Leake Funeral Home. “Pop Brown” was a faithful and consistant member of Changing Lives Ministries, International in Wilmington, Delaware. Outside of church, Cokie would enjoy his favorite pastime: shooting pool. Wednesday April 11, 2018 would be a different kind of day. It would be the day that Norman Brown Sr., while surrounded by his family and loved ones, would move from Crozer Chester Medical Center at 1:36pm and continue up the Kings Highway. Norman leaves to cheris fond memories his wife, Donna Brown; son, Bishop Norman Brown Jr.; daughters, Carla (Courtney) Walker, Nicole Haynes, Shamira Haynes, and Shakyra Brown; son to be sons in law; Gary Mitchell and Charles Swiggett; brothers, Clarence (Francis) and Martin (Roberta) Brown; sisters, Doris (Frizzel) Ellis, Elaine (Otheo) Savage, and Kay Davis; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and the Changing Lives Ministries Family.
