Louise T. Kleh passed away peacefully on Friday, July 27, 2018, at Converse Home in Burlington, surrounded by her loving family. She was 94 years old. Born Linda Louise Travers on a working farm in Stephenson, Virginia, on January 27, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Alexander and Faith (Jackson) Travers. She graduated from John Hanley High School in Winchester, VA, and went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Home Economics at the University of Maryland. This is where she met Dr. Thomas Robert Kleh, the love of her life. They were married in 1951, and they enjoyed 64 years together until Tom’s death in 2016. She was a high school teacher, and was active in Klifa Club, Burlington Garden Club, and Fanny Allen Auxiliary. Louise reluctantly learned to ski at the age of 45 because she was fed up with waiting for the family all day in the base lodge. She and Tom loved to travel, and besides ski trips out West, they travelled to Ireland, Switzerland, New Zealand and Australia. Louise adapted well to changing technology over her lifetime, learning to use computers in her 80s and an iPad and iPhone in her 90s. She was well known in the cryptocurrency community as the oldest grandmother who owned Bitcoin. Her death announcement on Twitter went viral around the world. She leaves four children: Kristi Kleh Blincoe of Dillon, CO, Dave Kleh of Colchester, VT, Cindy Kleh of South Burlington, and Leslie Kleh Broome of South Burlington. She also leaves five grandchildren: Justin and Sarah Blincoe, Zach and Sam Kleh, and Jackson Broome.
