Louise P. (Hodnick) Librich, 94, of Brighton Twp., passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018, at Good Samaritan Hospice Beaver. Born February 26, 1924, in Fallston, a daughter of the late Nick and Barbara (Toncic) Hodnick. She was a graduate of New Brighton High School and Edinboro Teachers College. She was a retired art teacher, having taught at Rochester School District and Western Beaver Area Schools. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church of New Brighton. Louise had a passion for art and gardening. For years she oversaw her “Grounds of Beautification Club”, planting trees and flowers around the school buildings. Her beautification extended indoors to involve students creating murals. She was a papier-mache master and created numerous backdrops and other props for musicals and plays. Surviving are her loving family, one daughter, Pauline Curtis, New Cumberland, W.Va.; two sons and their wives, Michael and Kathy Librich and Nicholas and Dawn Librich, all of Brighton Twp.; four grandchildren, Christina and Melissa Curtis, Jared and his wife Rosemary Librich, and Jeffrey and his partner Jessica Alberti; one great-grandson, Ethan Librich; and one great-granddaughter, Audry Librich. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Nick M. Librich; her sisters, Barbara Bogovich and Mary Marecic; and brother, Nick Hodnick. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, where prayer will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. with the Rev Fr. Tom Kredel officiating. Entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum, Rochester.
