Linda Rae Jackson, 69, residing in South Bend, passed away at 3:00 pm Tuesday, August 29, 2018 in the Sanctuary at Holy Cross, South Bend. She was born December 18, 1948 in Long Beach, CA to Darrell Raymond and Wilma Mable (Beckett) Mechling. Linda is survived by her mother, Wilma Mechling of Gardena, CA; daughters, Holly (Keldon) Arjoonsingh of Wylie, TX and Trisha Violet Holloway of South Bend; son, Steven Douglas (Carolyn) Holloway of Niles, MI; five grandchildren; one sister, Rita (Gary) Cable of Dayton, OH; two nieces; and three great nieces. She was preceded in death by her father, Darrell Mechling. Linda worked as a draftsman in the satellite manufacturing industry prior to retiring. There will be a gathering of friends and family from 1:00 – 3:00 pm Friday, August 31, 2018 in the Palmer Funeral Home – Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Linda may be donated to the American Cancer Society of North Central Indiana, 130 Red Coach Drive, Mishawka, IN 46545.
