Obituary for Joyce Sneed Joyce “Peaches” Alberta Maxwell Sneed passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 25, 2018. Services will be held at Yale Assembly of God Church at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 29, 2018. Pastor Randall Newby will officiate. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Peaches was born on September 8, 1929, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, to James and Gladys Hagar Maxwell. Her early childhood was spent in Illinois until her family made Dinuba, California, their home. After graduating high school, she packed peaches in a factory. There she met a man who carried the boxes of peaches to the truck. On March 28, 1948, they were married, moved to Oklahoma, and started their new life. All three children were born in Oklahoma, as were her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her brothers, Jimmy Jr., Eddie, and Bill Maxwell, and her first grandchild, Jeremy Skidmore. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Harry Sneed, Jr.; daughters, J. Elaine Skidmore and Marsha Laughlin; and her son, Harry Sneed, III; brother, Robert “Bob” Pike and his son, Jason; grandchildren, Jessica Brewer Skidmore (wife of Jeremy); Rebecca Skidmore Dow (husband Aaron); Sarah McLaughlin Green (husband Andy Greene); Hannah McLaughlin Bartee (husband Andy Bartee); Heather Sneed; Kylee Sneed; and Harry Sneed IV; and 13 grandchildren.
