Obituary for Jimmy Martinez Jimmy Martinez, 58 of Eltingville, a heroic Firefighter with the NYC Fire Department and first responder during 9-11, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2018, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of 40 years to Maria Martinez; loving father to Eileen Martinez, Jimmy Nelson Martinez and Alyssa Martinez; fond father-in-law to Tiffany Martinez and Howard Champerlain, Jr.; dear brother to Marlene Levy, Nilda DiSerafino, Waldo Gonzalez, Jonayra Martinez, Terance Behling and Erika Behling and devoted grandfather to Jimmy Ryan, Penelope Rose and Madelyn Grace. Jimmy is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at St. Clare Church located at 110 Nelson Avenue Staten Island, New York 10308. Committal services will follow at Rosehill Crematory, Linden, NJ. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 and Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at the John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd. (at Eltingville Station), Staten Island, New York.
