Obituary for Jesse Patrick Phifer Jr Mr. Jesse Patrick Phifer, Age 76, went to Heaven after a long journey with vascular dementia. Pat grew up in Rockingham, NC and was a 1960 graduate from Rockingham High School. He was known as a terrific football player who won many awards. He went on to graduate from Saint Andrews Presbyterian College, Laurinburg, NC with a B.S. Degree in Business Administration. Pats first job was a NC state probation Officer for District and Superior courts in Richmond County, NC. Later he became employed with his dad at J.P. Phifer Construction Company from 1966 to 1973. Soon he relocated to Charlotte where he worked for John Crosland Construction Company for 35 years as an Estimator and Purchasing Agent for single and multi-family construction. Pat taught Estimating at Central Piedmont College and was an active member of the Lions Club. Pat married his high school sweetheart, Inez Ewing in 1965. They spent 53 wonderful years together. They were proud parents of 3 wonderful children Kelley, Jesse and Fred. Kelley passed away in 2005 from breast cancer, leaving behind her children Madison and Adam. Left behind to cherish DaddyO’s memory are Jesse and Beth Phifer and their boys Matthew and Justin. Fred and Crystal Phifer and their girls Katelyn and Anna. Pat is survived by his two sisters Claudia and marlin and their husbands Hal Shelly and Stewart Smith. His two brothers Hector and Theron and their wives Carolyn and Becky. There are many nieces and nephews. Pat’s soul will be remembered as a kind, loving, father, friend, coach and granddaddy. Known as DaddyO. He loved reading his devotions, walking his dog, planting his tomatoes and peppers, and feeding his birds. He enjoyed taking family vacations and later enjoyed watching friends and family enjoy the lake on many holidays and gatherings. His favorite activity was attending a Wake Forest football game to cheer for the demon deacons. A service to celebrate pat’s life will be held August 3, 2018 at 2:00 PM with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM at Dilworth United Methodist Church 605 East Blvd,.
