James Edward “Jim” Mokry, born February 23, 1934, in Bartlett, Texas, died Monday July 30, 2018. Visitation will be held Friday August 3, 2018 1-2pm, with services immediately following, at Baker Funeral Home in Brazoria, Texas. Jim was an avid bowler, hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed tending to his garden and taking care of his horses and land. He was in the army and later retired from the Veterans Administration. He was a loving, devoted husband, dad, and Papa, spending the past years enjoying his great grandchildren. He is survived by wife of 45 years, Melba, whom he loved with everything he had. Sons, Ricky Hammond (Delores) Conyers, GA; James Mokry Jr. (Vicki) Corpus Christi, TX; and Todd Mokry Rockport, TX. Daughter, Debbie Mercer (Bill) Clute, TX. Granddaughters, Heather McKnight (Jimmy) Sweeny, TX; Rachel Clifton (Gregory) Sweeny, TX; Brandy Allen (Bryan) Conyers, GA; Crystal Sierra (Adam) Angleton, TX; Lacey Roberson (Scott) Perryton, TX; and Melissa Mitchell (Chris) Corpus Christi, TX. Grandsons, James Price Jr. Freeport, Texas; Ricky Hammond Jr. (Jill) Bethlehem, GA; Derik Hammond (Rebekah) Oceanside, CA; and Mathew Mokry Corpus Christi, TX. Numerous great-grandchildren. And nephew, Darrell Mokry (Veronica) Corpus Christi, TX. He is proceeded in death by his parents, V.A. and Matilda Mokry; Brothers, Emil and Clement; Sister, Henrietta; Son, Shane Hammond; Daughter, Tara Daniels Price; and Grandson, Dustin Mercer.
