Jacob Schatmeyer, 89, on August 2, 2018 of Ramsey, NJ formerly of Fair Lawn. Beloved husband of the late Evelyn. Loving father of Peggy Lenyk and husband Slawko, Jack Schatmeyer and wife Terri and Kathryn Lamanna and husband Tony. Cherished grandfather of Michael Lenyk, Jennifer Ness, Katelyn and Brian Schatmeyer and Olivia Lamanna. Adored great grandfather of Allison and Lauren Lenyk and Ethan Ness. Dear brother of Marie Toth and Harry Schatmeyer Jr. Jacob was employed by Curtiss Wright Corporation for 35 years. He was a volunteer Firefighter for Fair Lawn Fire Department. Jacob was a parishioner of St. Paul RC Church in Ramsey. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed traveling. Jacob was an exceptional High School basketball player for Hawthorne High School. Jacob is a WWII Veteran of the US Navy. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1-5 PM at the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 11:30 AM at St. Paul RC Church in Ramsey, NJ. Interment will follow at Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Fair Lawn, NJ.
