Obituary for Helga Anderson (Oestreicher) Helga Christiane Anderson, went home Saturday, August 18, 2018. She was 80 years of age. Helga was born May 18, 1938 and was raised in Hamburg, Germany. She was a remarkably strong woman; surviving the holocaust. Helga came to the United States in 1955 on the Italia to join her mother and two sisters who arrived years earlier. In Helga’s past time, she loved to color and play word games on her cell phone. She loved playing pinochle, traveling, yard sales and gardening with her daughter and son in-law. Helga loved her church (Christ Lutheran Church of Sterling Heights) and God. Helga volunteered many hours for her church (McRest, Clintonaire Nursing Home, Habitat for Humanity and the Prayer Shawl Ministry) to name a few. She gave of herself tirelessly. Helga is survived by her daughter, Karen (Ron) Cubba, son, David (Kathy) Anderson; grandsons, Joseph and Steven Spricuzza; sisters, Marione (Daniel) Ingram and Rena (Richard) Victor; several nieces and nephews; and step grandchildren, Michele, Anna and Ronnie Jr.; and great grandchildren, Jaela, Ronnie, Jackie and Morgan. She was preceded in death by her son, Steven Anderson. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2pm – 8pm at Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Road, Fraser. A funeral will be celebrated on Thursday at Christ Lutheran Church of Sterling Heights at 10:30am with additional visitation from 9:30am – 10:30am.
