Fred P. Aleywine, 90, of Lake City, passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the V.A. Medical Center in Lake City. Born August 27, 1927, in Cuthbert, Ga., to the late Robert Lee Aleywine and Florence Johnson. He served in the United States Army, was a store manager for Big Star and Colonial Grocery Stores in Ga, Jacksonville, Fl., and Ocala, Fl., for 17 years. He enjoyed watching TV, and growing his garden. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Aleywine was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters, 2 brothers and loving wife Imogene M. Aleywine in 2013 and one grandson. Survivors include his son; Pat (Kristin) Aleywine, daughter; Carol Bottin, 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Aleywine will be conducted at 1:00pm on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Old Providence Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Herrington and Rev. Tim Stout officiating. Interment with follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Gateway- Forest Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Mr. Aleywine’s honor to the charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME, 3596 S US Hwy 441, Lake City, Fl., 32025, (386) 752-1954.
