Francis “Frank” S. Urbanowicz, 93, of Janesville, formerly of Sharon, Wisconsin and Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Janesville. He was born in Stamford, Conneticut on August 14, 1925; the son of Wallace and Josephine (Mrus) Urbanowicz. Frank married his loving and devoted wife of 70 years, Pearl (Guzniczak) Urbanowicz at St. Hedwig Catholic Church on August 7, 1948 in Chicago. Frank proudly served his country in the United States Navy in the South Pacific during both World War II and the Korean War. He went onto work for the Milwaukee Railroad as Train Master, retiring in 1985. He is survived by his wife, Pearl Urbanowicz; children, Rosanne (John Mayer) Urbanowicz, Dr. Margaret Zweifel, Gloria (Cliff) Genzler, Michael (Stephanie) Urbanowicz; grandchildren, Kacie (Deandre Dunklin) Goens, Justin Goens, Zachary (Cailyn) Zweifel, Dr. Whitney (Scott Schlegel) Zweifel, Dr. Olivia (Matthew Photides) Urbanowicz; great grandchildren, Yariyana Goens-Yarborough, Maddox Goens-Dunklin, Harper Zweifel; siblings, Delores Salzl, and Kenneth Urbanowicz; and his Yorkshire Terriers, Duke and Dutchess. Frank is predeceased by his parents, and three siblings. Private funeral services will be held, with burial at St. Adalbert Catholic Cemetery in Niles, Illinois.
