Obituary of Edwin Frank “Bud” Osterhout Edwin Frank “Bud” Osterhout, 95, of Midland, formerly of Bay City, our big hearted, generous, funny, and kind father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend went home to heaven on August 15, 2018. Bud was born in Bay City on March 23, 1923, to the late Merlin and Cora (Malone) Osterhout. Bud proudly served in the U.S. Navy and went on to work at Newcor. He loved to bow hunt, was a taxidermist, and a huge animal lover. Bud enjoyed making bird houses and feeders and giving them to family and friends. Those who knew Bud, knew he was a simple, but loving man. His pride and joy were his two caring daughters. He will be missed dearly. Bud leaves to cherish his memory, his two daughters, Diane Kathleen Joseph and Gail Ann (David) Luckett; grandchildren, Shelley Samples, Heather (Geoff) Vincent, Adam Jerome, Alexander (Alicia) Jerome, Paul (Amy) Spydell, Kimberle (Steve) Lawson, and Kendra (Tim) Scott; 16 great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; brother, James Osterhout, along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bud was welcomed home to heaven by his grandson, Cristen Spydell; son-in-law, Randolph Joseph; brothers, Merlin Osterhout, Harry Osterhout, and Albert Osterhout; his sisters, Helen Przelak, Mary Hugo, and Kathleen Patterson, and by his special friend, Pearl Craig. Bud’s family will be present to receive visitors on Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the time of his 11:00 AM Tribute Ceremony at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. A Celebration of Life Reception will follow in The Wesley Room at Skorupski’s.
