Obituary for Edward E. Surma Edward E. Surma, 76 of Greensburg ( Unity Twp.) died Monday August 20, 2018 in Allegheny General Hospital. He was born October 16, 1941 in Unity Twp. a son of the late Steve and Helen Mott Surma. Ed was a 1959 graduate of the former Hurst High School, Norvelt. He retired from Sears where he was employed for over 30 years. He was a veteran of the US Navy and was a member of the Pleasant Unity VFW, Trauger Fireman’s Club and a member of St. Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church, Marguerite. He is survived by his wife , Phyllis Wisniewski Surma; three children, Ed Surma and his wife Christine of Ligonier, Jeff Surma of Tulsa, OK and Cheri Surma of Woodland Hills, CA. and two brothers, Pat Surma and his wife Mary Anne of Bethel Park and Dave Surma and his wife Christy of Pittsburgh. Friends will be received in the Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 406 E. Washington St., Mount Pleasant on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon. A Blessing Service will be held at 12:15 P.M. in the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00 P.M. in St. Benedict’s R.C. Church, Marguerite with Rev. Daniel L.Blout as celebrant.
