OBITUARY Donna Mae Schlueder August 18, 1933 – August 26, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Donna Mae Schlueder celebrated her 85th birthday Saturday, August 18, 2018 in the company of her closest loved ones. Donna graciously passed away on Sunday, August 26th with her son, Guy holding her hand and speaking softly to her. Donna was born Dona May Daley in Chicago, Illinois to parents Joseph Earl Daley and Bertha Theresa Novick Daley. She discovered later in life that her name on her birth certificate was different than the way she had always spelled it. Donna was a proud sister to Earl Kenneth Daley. She married the love of her life, William Howard Schlueder with her parents’ permission at the age of 17. Donna’s parents, brother, and husband preceded her in death. Donna and Howard raised a devoted son, William Guy Schlueder. After becoming a widow in 1993, Donna continued living another 25 years. In those 25 years her family grew with the birth of her granddaughter, Emily Schlueder (1994); and new daughter-in-law, Laurel (Hanson) Schlueder (2003); and the birth of a grandson, Luke Schlueder (2008); followed by the birth of two great grandchildren, Braylee Warren (2015) and Kailor Anderson (2017). Donna is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and by extended family and many others who will remember her fondly. Donna’s life during the “dash” included living in Illinois, California, and Texas – where she lived 50+ years in Austin. She performed many types of work with a long period of time working in the automotive industry. She will best be remembered for being a good mom, a good mother-in-law, a good grannie, a good neighbor, a good friend, and someone who tried to do right by the people she encountered.
