OBITUARY Donald Jay Poynter February 1, 1964 – July 30, 2018 Donald “Don” Jay Poynter, 54, passed away peacefully at home on July 30, 2018 after a courageous 8-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Don was a loving husband to his wife Sharon and a devoted father to his three children. He was a giving and compassionate man who adored his family and friends and humbly served others. He was a member of Grace Church for 14 years and volunteered for Loaves and Fishes weekly. He will be deeply missed by those that knew and loved him. Don is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sharon Poynter; his children, Collin Poynter, Nolan Poynter, and Taylor Poynter; his mother, Frances Ducker; and his sisters, Patricia Wilson and Ellen Poynter. Don is predeceased by his father, Arnold Poynter. A funeral service will be held at the Chapel at Mackey Funerals & Cremations Century Drive in Greenville, SC on Friday, August 3rd at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 – 1:45 pm. A committal will follow the service at Wood Memorial Park in Duncan, SC.
